The sender is solely responsible for the contents of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– MorphoSys and Biogen Expand Collaboration MorphoSys AG (Neuer Markt: MOR), the Munich-based biotechnology company, today announced an expansion of its existing collaboration with Biogen, Inc. (NASDAQ: BGEN), located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Under the expanded agreement, MorphoSys will grant Biogen access to its new HuCAL GOLD library for use in Biogen’s functional genomics research programs. Additionally, the agreement increases the number of ESTs in the existing collaboration announced in December 2000. Under this agreement, MorphoSys is generating research antibodies against Expressed Sequence Tags (ESTs) to help identify and validate drug targets in Biogen’s genomics programs. The agreement also includes an option for Biogen to develop selected antibodies identified during the collaboration as therapeutics. MorphoSys will under the new agreement receive additional funded research and licensing payments beyond those originally defined in December 2000.
