Müller – Die lila Logistik AG achieved profits in Q1 2004

The sender is solely responsible for the contents of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Müller – Die lila Logistik AG achieved profits in Q1 2004 Besigheim, 19 May 2004 – In comparison with the previous year, Müller – Die lila Logistik AG achieved an obviously better quarterly result with slightly higher sales amounting to 15,733 kEUR (PY: 15,219 kEUR). Earnings before interest and tax rose by 9% to 761 kEUR (PY: 699 kEUR), the net income was 208 kEUR (PY: 39 kEUR) which is equivalent to earnings per share amounting to 0.03 EUR (PY: 0.01 EUR). Development of the business segments The Logistics Design segment (planning and consultancy services) ended the reporting quarter with sales and earnings at previous year`s level. With earnings amounting to 772 kEUR (PY: 765 kEUR), the earnings before interest and tax made by the consultancy segments were 151 kEUR (PY: 151 kEUR). Logistics Operating, the business segment offering operative logistics services, achieved sales exceeding the amount during the same period last year by more than 600 kEUR. In the first three months of 2004, the earnings before interest and tax from sales proceeds of 15,088 kEUR (PY: 14,470 kEUR) were 610 kEUR (PY: 547 kEUR). Acquisition of new business In Q1 comprehensive service agreements were concluded with new and existing customers. The service agreement with MAGNA STEYR and the Joint Venture with Vedes ensure Müller – Die lila Logistik AG a two-digit percent growth for this year and next year. Both orders had been preceded by several-months` consultation phases which emphasizes the strategic approach to combine consultancy services and operative logistics services. Increase of participation in Emporias Management Consulting GmbH and completion of a control and profit transfer agreement Müller – Die lila Logistik AG has increased the share capital in return for contribution in kind by 200,000 EUR to now 7,900,000 EUR. The new shares are used to acquire further 25% of the capital stock of Emporias Management Consulting GmbH. As a result, Müller – Die lila Logistik AG will in future have a 76 % participation in the Emporias Management Consulting GmbH. Müller – Die lila Logistik AG and Emporias Management Consulting GmbH have completed a control and profit transfer agreement which is subject to approval by the general meeting of shareholders. Prospect “We are satisfied with the course of business in this year’s Q1. We hold to our plans for the total year and still want to achieve sales amounting to 68 million EUR and a positive result of the year,” comments Michael Müller, the CEO of Müller – Die lila Logistik AG, on the results of Q1.
