With an organic sales growth of 15.9 per cent, Müller – Die lila Logistik AG continued its previous growth path. Sales for the first quarter of the current year were 18,239 kEUR (previous year: 15,733 kEUR). With a 2.7 per cent margin (previous year: 5.1 per cent), the EBIT was 494 kEUR (previous year: 796 kEUR). Due to the profit of 159 kEUR in the period under review (previous year: 276 kEUR, in accordance with IFRS), earnings per share were 2 Eurocent (previous year: 4 Euro-cent). Starting with the 3-month report 2005, the company changed its group accounting from US-GAAP (United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Development of the business segments While the planning and consulting segment (Logistics Design) achieved sales amounting to 741 kEUR (previous year: 772 kEUR) and an (unconsolidated) EBIT of 148 kEUR (previous year: 151 kEUR), sales in the Logistics Operating segment rose to 17,505 kEUR (previous year: 15,088 kEUR). The Q1 EBIT was 346 kEUR (previous year: 645 kEUR). Cash-flow and equity ratio As of 31/03/2005, the company had liquid funds of 956 kEUR which increased by 306 kEUR compared to Q1 2004 (previous year: 650 kEUR). The cash outflow from operating activities was 655 kEUR (previous year: 1,389 kEUR) and from investment activities 369 kEUR (previous year: 182 kEUR). The cash-flow from financing activities was positive and amounted to 709 kEUR (previous year: 1,341 kEUR). With a balance sheet total amounting to 45,588 kEUR (31/12/2004: 44,447 kEUR), the equity of 9,731 kEUR (31/12/2004: 9,572 kEUR) reached a ratio of 21.3 per cent (31/12/2004: 21.5 per cent). Staff On the key date 31 March 2005, the company had a staff of 988 (previous year: 668). Sale of shares in the joint venture with VEDES In its press release of 23 May this year, Müller – Die lila Logistik AG informed about the sale of shares in the joint venture with Vedes and the termination of the co-operation in the joint company. Against the background of significantly reduced sales expectations of the joint venture for the current and the coming fiscal year, the necessary earnings targets could not be achieved. With effect from 01 April 2005, the former joint venture is deconsolidated from the consolidated financial statements of Müller – Die lila Logistik AG. Prospect As a result of this change in the group of consolidated companies of Müller – Die lila Logistik AG, sales expectations for the current fiscal year are now 74 million EUR, and the forecast for the net profit for the fiscal year 2005 is adjusted to an amount between 700 kEUR and 800 kEUR.
