In comparison with the previous year, Müller – Die lila Logistik AG grew by 3.4 % to sales revenues totalling 17,664 kEUR (previous year: 17,081 kEUR) in the second quarter of this year. The profit (after taxes) in this quarter amounted to 460 kEUR (previous year: 447 kEUR) which is equivalent to a result of 6 Euro cent per share. The organic growth over the first two quarters was 9.4 % which means a sales growth to 35,903 kEUR (previous year: 32,814 kEUR). At the end of the first six months of this year, the group had achieved a half-year profit of 619 kEUR (previous year: 722 kEUR). This year for the first time, the company applies the IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) while the statements of the past few years were made in accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States (US-GAAP). Development of the business segments The Logistics Design business segment providing planning and consulting services achieved sales revenues of 1,746 kEUR (previous year: 2,135 kEUR) in the first half of the year 2005 and thus made (unconsolidated) earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of 407 kEUR (previous year: 450 kEUR). In Logistics Operating, the business segment offering operative logistics services, sales rose to 34,170 kEUR (previous year: 30,956 kEUR). The EBIT in this segment amounted to 777 kEUR (previous year: 1,217 kEUR). Cash-flow and equity ratio At the end of the mid-year, the group had liquid funds of 237 kEUR (30/06/2004: 452 kEUR). The cash-flow from operating activities amounted to 408 kEUR (previous year: 258 kEUR), investment activities generated a cash- outflow totalling 367 kEUR (previous year: 577 kEUR). The cash-flow from financing activities was strongly influenced by the repayment of debts and amounted to minus 1,076 kEUR (previous year: minus 112 kEUR). The equity rose to 10,175 kEUR (31/12/2004: 9,572 kEUR) which is equivalent to an equity ratio of 23.4 % (31/12/2004: 21.5 %). Despite the sales growth, the balance sheet total decreased by 2.1% to 43,520 kEUR (31/12/2004: 44,447 kEUR). Staff On the key day 30 June 2005, the group had a staff of 854 (previous year: 684). Prospect “After a first quarter as expected and a favourable development in the second quarter, we are now well on our way to achieving our expectations for the total year,” says Michael Müller, the CEO of Lila Logistik commenting on the publication of the half-year figures. Since the third quarter is traditionally affected by the holiday close-downs of customers and, as a result, a lower logistics volume, above all the fourth quarter will make a substantial contribution to the attainment of the year-end target. For the current year, the company expects sales of 74 million EUR and an annual profit between 700 kEUR and 800 kEUR.
