Müller – Die lila Logistik AG: A good start into the year 2006

In Q1 of 2006, Müller – Die lila Logistik AG posted a 12% organic sales growth. Sales in the first quarter of the current fiscal year amounted to 20,423 k€ (previous year 18,239 k€). The operating results could be improved on the previous year to earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of 694 k€ (previous year 494 k€); as a result, the EBIT margin climbed to 3.4 per cent in the quarter just ended. At the three new locations Antwerp (Belgium), Bünde and Zwickau (both Germany), new projects started as planned for customers from the key business segments automotive und electronics at the beginning of the year. In the planning and consulting services segment (Logistics Design) of the Lila Logistik Group, the operating results totalled 101 k€ (previous year: 148 k€) with sales revenues amounting to 660 k€ (previous year 741 k€). Sales in the Logistics Operating segment rose by 13 per cent to 19,779 k€ in Q1 (previous year: 17,505 k€), earnings before interest and tax soared by 71.4 per cent to 593 k€ (previous year: 346 k€). As of 31 March 2006, the Lila Logistik group had liquid funds amounting to 1,443 k€ with an increase on the previous year by 487 k€ (previous year: 956 k€). The cash outflow from the operating business was 575 k€ (previous year 655 k€) and from investment activities 215 k€ (previous year: 369 k€) in Q1. The cash flow from financing activities amounted to 1,142 k€ (previous year: 709 k€). The equity ratio improved to 25.7 per cent (31/12/2005: 25.3 per cent) with an equity amounting to 11,398 k€ (31/12/2005: 10,963 k€). Taking the good result of the first three months as a basis, the management confirmed the sales targets and a slightly higher annual profit in 2006 as announced in the annual report.
