Die MVV Energie AG hat in der ersten Hälfte des Geschäftsjahres 1999/2000 ihren Wachstumskurs erfolgreich fortgesetzt und ihre Wettbewerbsposition weiter gestärkt. Dank ihrer flexiblen Multi Utility Struktur hat sie Umsatz und Ertrag im ersten Halbjahr 1999/2000 gegenüber der Vorjahresperiode erneut deutlich verbessert. Der Umsatz stieg um 14,5% auf 686,6 Mio. DM. Bereinigt um die Strom- und Erdgassteuer wuchs der Umsatz um 8,6% auf 622,3 Mio. DM. Das operative Ergebnis (EBIT) wuchs um 6,5% auf 139,0 Mio. DM. Der Jahresüberschuss erhöhte sich im Vergleich zum gleichen Zeitraum des Vorjahres um 60,5% auf 68,2 Mio. DM. Der Geschäftsbereich Strom verzeichnete deutliche Zuwächse bei Absatz und Umsatz. Die Stromlieferungen nahmen insbesondere wegen des expansiven Stromhandels und durch Zuwächse bei Sondervertragskunden außerhalb Mannheims um 40,8% auf 1.680 Mio. kWh zu. Der Stromumsatz erhöhte sich um 13% auf 213,9 Mio. MVV Energie AG MVV Energie AG continued to steer its course towards greater growth during the first two quarters of fiscal year 1999/2000, thereby strengthening its competitive position even more. Thanks to its flexible multi-utility structure, it has thus succeeded in improving both sales and earnings in the first two quarters of fiscal year 1999/2000. Sales rose 14.5 % to DM 686.6 million. Adjusted for the electricity and natural gas taxes, sales increased by 8.6 % to a total of DM 622.3 million. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) rose 6.5 % to DM 139 million. Compared to the same period last year, net earnings after taxes went up 60.5 % to DM 68.2 million. MVV’s electric power division had significant growth in both volume and sales. Deliveries of electricity grew by 40.8 % to 1.68 billion kWh due to MVV’s expanding power-trading business and increases in the volume supplied to bulk-rate customers outside of Mannheim.
