COMPLETION OF SALE OF OPERATION IN LAOS

New York and Stockholm, 9 March 2011 — Millicom International Cellular S.A. (“Millicom”) (Nasdaq Stock Market: MICC and Stockholmsbörsen: MIC) today announces that it has completed the transaction announced on September 16, 2009 and has sold, on materially the same terms, its 74.1% share of its operations in Laos to Vimpelcom.
