Suspended Wells	Note 8—Suspended Wells The capitalized cost of suspended wells at September 30, 2018, was $986 million, an increase of $133 million from $853 million at year-end 2017. Three suspended wells totaling $7 million were charged to dry hole expense during the first nine months of 2018 relating to exploratory well costs capitalized for a period greater than one year as of December 31, 2017.
