Acquisitions and Dispositions	NOTE 2 — ACQUISITIONS AND DISPOSITIONS During the quarter ended March 31, 2025, we paid $190 million to acquire two hospital facilities in New Hampshire and Florida and $37 million to acquire nonhospital health care entities. During the quarter ended March 31, 2024, we paid $50 million to acquire two hospital facilities in Texas and $46 million to acquire nonhospital health care entities. Purchase price amounts are allocated to the related assets acquired and liabilities assumed based upon their respective fair values. During the quarter ended March 31, 2025, we received proceeds of $157 million related to the sale of a hospital facility in California (effective April 1, 2025). We also received proceeds of $4 million and recognized a pretax gain of $1 million related to sales of real estate and other health care entity investments. During the quarter ended March 31, 2024, we received proceeds of $297 million and recognized a pretax gain of $193 million for the sale of a hospital facility in California. We also received proceeds of $13 million and recognized a pretax gain of $8 million related to sales of real estate and other health care entity investments.

During the quarter ended March 31, 2025, we received proceeds of $157 million related to the sale of a hospital facility in California (effective April 1, 2025). We also received proceeds of $4 million and recognized a pretax gain of $1 million related to sales of real estate and other health care entity investments. During the quarter ended March 31, 2024, we received proceeds of $297 million and recognized a pretax gain of $193 million for the sale of a hospital facility in California. We also received proceeds of $13 million and recognized a pretax gain of $8 million related to sales of real estate and other health care entity investments.
