Marburg, August 22, 2005. Today, the management of carrier24 GmbH filed a
petition at the local court Munich for opening the insolvency proceedings due
to impending illiquidity.
carrier24 GmbH, a 15% subsidiary of 3U TELECOM AG, is fully consolidated
according to IFRS regulations. carrier24 GmbH was forced to this step due to
the strained financial situation triggered by the increasing market
competition among carrier service providers.
So far, carrier24 GmbH supplied the network infrastructure for the fixed-line
segment of the 3U group. In future, this service will be provided by LambdaNet
Communications Deutschland AG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of 3U TELECOM AG.
The management of 3U TELECOM AG does not expect any negative implications for
the 3U group as a consequence of carrier24 GmbH’s insolvency, neither for the
operating business nor for the balance sheet structure respectively the
earnings situation. Therefore, the management of 3U TELECOM AG confirms the
group’s guidance for the current fiscal year, as communicated in July.
