During the thirteen weeks ended November 3, 2019, we repurchased 610,349 shares of our common stock at an average cost of $66.49 per share for a total cost of approximately $40,583,000. During the thirty-nine weeks ended November 3, 2019, we repurchased 1,838,971 shares of our common stock at an average cost of $61.29 per share for a total cost of approximately $112,714,000. Stock repurchases under our program may be made through open market and privately negotiated transactions at times and in such amounts as management deems appropriate. The timing and actual number of shares repurchased will depend on a variety of factors including price, corporate and regulatory requirements, capital availability and other market conditions.
Dividends
We declared cash dividends of $0.48 and $0.43 per common share during the thirteen weeks ended November 3, 2019 and October 28, 2018, respectively. We declared cash dividends of $1.44 and $1.29 per common share during the thirty-nine weeks ended November 3, 2019 and October 28, 2018, respectively.
