Nexus AG: Improvement in sales and EBITDA in the second quarter 2003 Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Villingen-Schwenningen, August 28th, 2003: Nexus AG, specialized in medical software, was able to improve its sales by 43% from EUR 2.5 million in the first quarter to EUR 3.5 million in the second quarter 2003. (Q2 2002: EUR 4.1 million). Compared to the previous year, the NEXUS group had a 17 % decrease in sales (six months 2002: EUR 7.3 million) to EUR 6.0 million. Despite fewer sales the EBITDA could be improved by 18% rising from KEUR 234 in the first six months 2002 to KEUR 276 in the same period of the current year. Compared to the first quarter 2003 an improvement of the EBITDA from KEUR 9 to KEUR 268 in the second quarter 2003 could be achieved. The Group deficit after taxes increased from KEUR -97 in the first six months 2002 to KEUR -869 which is mainly due to higher depreciations and the decision not to capitalize deferred taxes. The amount of new orders developed positively in the second quarter, especially in European countries. The orders will affect sales figures positively in the following quarters. Nexus AG has a healthy balance sheet. Cash resources were approximately EUR 18 million on June 30th, 2003, and the equity ratio is 87%.
