NEXUS AG: Increase in Profit and Sales at 1st Quarter

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— AD-HOC RELEASE OF NEXUS AG NEXUS AG: Increase in Profit and Sales at 1st Quarter Villingen-Schwenningen, May 19th, 2006: NEXUS AG specialized on medical software increased group sales by 5.1% from KEUR 5,031 in Q1 2005 to KEUR 5,287 in the first quarter of 2006. The sales of “Healthcare Software” have risen very strong with an increase of 9.4%. Sales reached a volume of KEUR 4,298 after KEUR 3,928 in the previous year. The operating result before tax clearly improved by 56.3% to KEUR 358 (Q1 2005: KEUR 229). The same situation can be presented with the profit after tax with an increase of KEUR 160 to KEUR 317 (Q1 2005: KEUR 157). EBITDA was KEUR 956 (Q1 2005: 1,033) and a little reduced, which reflects also the increased financial result. NEXUS / GMT GmbH, Frankfurt/Main, was consolidated the first time in Q1 2006. The cash flow from current transactions with a volume of KEUR 232 (Q1 2005: KEUR -29) was KEUR 261 higher than in the previous year. Furthermore international business is in a positive development especially at “Healthcare Software” division, which reached a rate of 27.6% (Q1 2005: 20.1%) of sales in this business segment. NEXUS AG has a financially sound balance sheet. Cash reserves amounted to 18.6 million euros (Q1 2005: 16.0 million euros), which is still rather high. NEXUS develops and markets IT-solutions for the healthcare sector. NEXUS supports the integrated healthcare approach which ensures the exchange of data between general practitioners, hospitals and rehabilitation clinics.
