Dispositions and acquisitions	(8) Dispositions and acquisitions *Three-month period ended March 31, 2015:* *Acquisitions:* During the first quarter of 2015, we paid approximately $35 million to acquire: (i) the Orchard Portman House Hospital (now called Cygnet Hospital-Taunton), a 46-bed behavioral health care facility located near Taunton, United Kingdom; (ii) certain assets and a management contract related to the operations of a 24-bed critical access hospital located in Bonham, Texas, and; (iii) various other businesses and real property assets. *Three-month period ended March 31, 2014:* *Acquisitions:* During the first quarter of 2014, we paid approximately $3 million to acquire the operations of Palo Verde Behavioral Health, a 48-bed behavioral health care facility located in Tucson, Arizona. *Divestitures:* During the first quarter of 2014, we received approximately $11 million of cash proceeds for the divestiture of a non-operating investment. This transaction resulted in a pre-tax gain of approximately $10 million which is included in our consolidated results of operations during the first quarter of 2014.
