During the three and six months ended June 30, 2021, the Company did not purchase or sell any intangible assets.

Amortization expense for intangible assets for the three and six months ended June 30, 2021 was $4.7 million and $9.3 million, respectively. Amortization expense for intangible assets for the three and six months ended June 30, 2020 was $4.6 million and $9.3 million, respectively.
