5. Segment Reporting

The Company operates in and reports as a single operating segment, which is the design and manufacture of a wide range of engine powered products. Net sales are predominantly generated through the sale of generators and other engine powered products through various distribution channels. The Company manages and evaluates its operations as one segment primarily due to similarities in the nature of the products, production processes and methods of distribution. The Company’s sales in the United States represent approximately 87% and 89%, respectively, of total sales for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2013. Approximately 90% and 98% of the company’s identifiable long-lived assets are located in the United States as of September 30, 2013 and December 31, 2012, respectively.

The Company's product offerings consist primarily of power products with a range of power output geared for varying end customer uses. Residential power products and commercial & industrial power products are each a similar class of products based on similar power output and end customer usage. The breakout of net sales between residential, commercial & industrial, and other products is as follows:
