6. Segment Reporting


The Company operates in and reports as a single operating segment, which is the design and manufacture of a wide range of engine powered products. Net sales are predominantly generated through the sale of generators and other engine powered products through various distribution channels. The Company manages and evaluates its operations as one segment primarily due to similarities in the nature of the products, production and design processes, and methods of distribution. The Company’s sales in the United States represented approximately 84% and 85% of total sales for the three months ended June 30, 2015 and 2014, respectively, and represented 85% of total sales for the six months ended June 30, 2015 and 2014. Approximately 91% and 90% of the Company’s identifiable long-lived assets are located in the United States at June 30, 2015 and December 31, 2014, respectively.


The Company's product offerings consist primarily of power products with a range of power output geared for varying end customer uses. Residential products and commercial & industrial products are each a similar class of products based on similar power output and end customer usage. The breakout of net sales between residential, commercial & industrial, and other products is as follows:
