This Current Report on Form 6-K is being filed to be incorporated by reference into Registration Statement No. 333-100251 on Form F-3, effective December 27, 2002, relating to $1,210,050,000 0.25% Convertible Notes Due 2007.

Other Matters to be Disclosed: The Koreasat 5 Communications Satellite Launch

Launch date: August 22, 2006, 12:27 pm.

Launch site: Launch platform, Pacific Ocean.

Purposes of the Koreasat 5 satellite launch:

- To replace Koreasat 2, which was launched in 1996.

- To provide multimedia transmission services utilizing high-powered transponders.

- To provide local satellite communication services.

Expected orbit life: 15 years from 2007, after four months of trial period.

Service coverage: To deliver services to operators in Asia including Japan, Eastern part of China, Taiwan and Philippines, as well as Korea.
