Item 8.01     Other Events.

On December 18, 2023, Alcoa Corporation (the “Company”) issued a press release regarding the expected fourth quarter 2023 impact of guidance from the U.S. Treasury Department on Section 45X of the Advanced Manufacturing Tax Credit, enacted as part of the Inflation Reduction Act, clarifying that commercial grade aluminum can qualify for the credit. The Company also announced the expected fourth quarter 2023 impact regarding a valuation allowance on certain deferred tax assets in Brazil.
