Business activity
In its product business, NorCom achieved a major domestic success in the
first quarter. Thus, the leading German news broadcaster N24 Gesellschaft
für Nachrichten und Zeitgeschehen mbH awarded NorCom and IBM a contract to
establish a new newsroom system. N24 is investing in the future: The new
newsroom system, NCPower Pro, will speed up the processing and production
of news and integrate reports in the broadcaster’s website at the press of
a button. NorCom and IBM will be implementing the system up until the end
of 2008. The contract has a volume in the single-digit millions.
In April, NorCom exhibited at the 2008 National Association of Broadcasters
(NAB), the largest media technology fair in Las Vegas, United States, where
it presented to an international audience NCPower Pro, the end-to-end
system for modern TV broadcasters and media companies.
Outlook
Looking ahead over the next few months of 2008, NorCom will continue to
focus on growth, software product business and internationalization. As in
the previous years, demand in the broadcasting, IPTV and corporate TV
segments is set to strength over the next few quarters.
For 2008 as a whole, NorCom projects growth in business across the Group as
a whole. In this connection, management will be giving priority to boosting
sales in the parent company NorCom AG’s product business and forecasts an
increase in sales of around 100 percent compared to the year before.
