Discontinued Operations Discontinued OperationsThe Company holds certain asbestos-related contingencies and insurance coverages from divested businesses for which it does not have an interest in the ongoing operations. The entities that hold these assets and liabilities became subsidiaries of the Company in connection with the Separation.
The Company has classified asbestos-related activity included in its Consolidated and Combined Condensed Statements of Operations as part of Loss from discontinued operations, net of taxes.

Loss from discontinued operations, net of taxes consists of Selling, general and administrative expenses of $2.2 million and $5.2 million, and a tax benefit of $0.5 million and $1.0 million for the three and nine months ended September 29, 2023, respectively.

Loss from discontinued operations, net of tax consists of Selling, general and administrative expenses of $1.3 million and $6.2 million, and a tax benefit of $0.3 million and $1.3 million for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2022, respectively. See Note 13 “Commitments and Contingencies” for further information.

Cash used in operating activities related to discontinued operations for the three and nine months ended September 29, 2023 was $2.5 million and $12.2 million, respectively, and was $5.6 million and $19.3 million for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2022, respectively.
