<P align=justify>Lima, Peru, March 30, 2006 - </B>Compania de Minas Buenaventura
S.A.A. ("Buenaventura") (NYSE: BVN; Lima Stock Exchange: BUE.LM), Peru's largest
publicly traded precious metals mining company, announced today the results of
the Company's Annual General Shareholders' meeting held today, March 30, 2006.
The following resolutions were passed: </P>

<P align=justify>1. Approval of the annual report and financial statements for
the period ended December 31, 2005.</P>
<P align=justify>2. Granted the Board the authority to appoint external auditors
for 2006. </P>
<P align=justify>3. Declaration of a cash dividend of US$ 0.22 per share or ADS,
equivalent to S/. 0.72 at an exchange rate of S/.3.28 per U.S.$1, to be paid in
U.S. dollars on May 2, 2006 to shareholders of record as of April 20, 2006. The
ex-dividend date is April 18, 2006.</P></DIR><B>

<P>Compania de Minas Buenaventura S.A.A. is Peru's largest, publicly-traded
precious metals company and a major holder of mining rights in Peru. The Company
is engaged in the mining, processing, development and exploration of gold and
silver and other metals via wholly-owned mines as well as through its
participation in joint exploration projects.</P></FONT><FONT face=Tahoma>

has controlling interests in four mining companies as well as a minority
