Eldorado Files Final Short Form Prospectus to

Qualify Shares Issued in Consideration of the Acquisition of Gold Fields Stake in SinoGold

VANCOUVER, BC – Paul N. Wright, President and Chief Executive Officer of Eldorado Gold Corporation (“Eldorado”, the “Company”, or “we”) is pleased to announce that Eldorado has filed a final short form prospectus dated July 20, 2009 (the “Prospectus”) in British Columbia and Ontario in connection with the share purchase and sale agreement dated June 3, 2009, as amended July 10, 2009 (the “Share Purchase Agreement”), with Gold Fields Australasia (BVI) Limited (“Gold Fields”) to acquire 57.9 million shares of Sino Gold Mining Limited (“Sino Gold”) (representing approximately 19.9% of the issued and outstanding shares of Sino Gold) (the “Gold Fields Transaction”).  A receipt for the Prospectus has been issued.

The Prospectus qualifies the 27,824,654 common shares of Eldorado to be issued to Gold Fields as consideration for the Sino Gold shares. The Eldorado common shares to be issued will not be subject to any statutory hold period.  For further information see the Prospectus.
