Depreciation expense for fiscal years 2018, 2017 and 2016 was $35,351, $32,131 and $33,186, respectively. Landfill amortization expense for fiscal years 2018, 2017 and 2016 was $31,841, $27,910 and $26,529, respectively. Depletion expense on landfill operating lease contracts for fiscal years 2018, 2017 and 2016 was $9,724, $9,646 and $9,295, respectively, and was recorded in cost of operations.
