ASU 2022-04 requires that buyers in a supplier finance program disclose sufficient information about the program to allow a user of the financial statements to understand the program's nature, activity during the period, changes since prior periods, and potential magnitude. The guidance in ASU 2022-04 was effective for interim and fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2022. Refer to "Note 7 to the Consolidated Financial Statements—Supplier Finance Program" for additional information regarding Mattel's supplier finance program. The adoption of this new accounting standard did not have a material impact on Mattel's consolidated financial statements.
