EARNINGS PER SHARE

Basic earnings per share is computed based on the weighted average number of common shares outstanding during the year. Diluted earnings per share is computed using the weighted average number of common shares outstanding and the effect of dilutive potential common shares outstanding during the year using the treasury stock method. Dilutive potential common shares consist of Restricted Stock Units, employee stock purchase plan shares and those Performance Stock Units and related DERs associated with the three-year performance period ended December 31, 2012, as such performance criteria was attained. Unvested Performance Stock Units and related DERs are not included in the computation of dilutive securities because vesting of these instruments is dependent upon the attainment of required criteria over three-year performance periods.
