401(k) Defined Contribution Plan 401(k) Defined Contribution Plan The Company has a defined contribution savings plan under Section 401(k) of the Internal Revenue Code. This plan covers substantially all domestic employees who meet minimum age and service requirements and allows participants to defer a portion of their annual compensation on a pre-tax basis. The Company makes discretionary matching contributions that are funded in the following year. The Company matches 50% of the first 3% of compensation that a participant contributes to the 401(k) plan, up to a maximum of $1,000 per plan year. The Company contributed $0.3 million and $0.2 million to the 401(k) plan during each of the three months ended March 31, 2022 and 2021, respectively, which represents the current period contribution for the prior plan year. The Company may also make discretionary profit-sharing contributions. No profit-sharing contributions were made during the three months ended March 31, 2022 and 2021.
