Stockholders' Equity
Stockholders' Equity

Dividends

On November 14, 2017, we announced that our board of directors approved a dividend policy to pay quarterly cash dividends to holders of our common stock. During each of the first, second, and third quarters of 2018, we declared and paid a dividend of $0.07 per share of our common stock. We also declared and paid an additional dividend of $1.00 per share of common stock during third quarter 2018. As such, we paid $47.1 million of dividends to shareholders during the nine months ended September 30, 2018. We did not declare or pay any cash dividends on our common stock during the nine months ended September 30, 2017. On November 2, 2018, our board of directors declared a quarterly dividend of $0.09 per share on our common stock payable on December 17, 2018, to stockholders of record on December 3, 2018. For a description of the restrictions in our asset-based credit facility, Term Loan, and the indenture governing our senior notes on our ability to pay dividends, see Note 8, Debt.
