12. Equity-Method Investments

Investment in NWL Pacific Inc. Co., LTD

The Company has a 50% ownership in NWL Pacific Inc. Co., LTD ("NWL Pacific"). The investment represents the Company's interest in NWL Pacific. The investment is a joint venture in South Korea established on May 12, 1998.

The Company treats the equity investment in the condensed consolidated financial statements under the equity method. Equity method investments are equity securities in entities the Company does not control but over which it has the ability to exercise significant influence. These investments are accounted for under the equity method of accounting in accordance with ASC 323, Investments — Equity Method and Joint Ventures. Equity method investments are measured at cost minus impairment, if any, plus or minus the Company’s share of an investee’s income or loss, less distributions received. As of  September 30, 2024 the Company did not have material accounts receivable nor accounts payable balances with NWL Pacific.

The tables below present the summarized financial information from the date of acquisition through September 30, 2024, as provided to the Company by the investee, for the unconsolidated company (in thousands):
