The German Federal Office for Defense Technology and Procurement and OHB System
AG, the affiliate of listed company OHB Teledata AG, on December 17. 2001 signed
the contract concerning the SAR-Lupe satellite monitoring system. Worth roughly
EUR 300 million, this large-scale project will allow both companies to budget
revenues and earnings reliably. The entire system is to be completed by 2006.
The volume attributable to OHB Teledata AG is worth roughly EUR 13.4 million, of
which approx. EUR 2.5 million will show up in the Company’s 2002 revenues.
Alongside the recent telematics orders received from major customers for 2002,
this confirms OHB Teledata AG’s original revenue and earnings forecast for 2002.
The SAR-Lupe satellite reconnaissance system will be used by the German armed
forces in crisis regions. OHB Teledata will be handling the data
transmission/telemetrie component of the overall project. The experience gained
from the SAR-Lupe project will be plowed back into new products aimed at
enhancing security and monitoring functions.
