Contract signed by OHB and HISPASAT for the construction and testing of the
Small Geo satellite 'Hispasat AG1'

Paris, June 18, 2009 - The Spanish communications service provider and
satellite operator Hispasat S.A. and OHB-System AG, a subsidiary of the
European space and technology group OHB Technology AG (Prime Standard,
ISIN: DE0005936124), have today signed a contract for the construction and
testing of the satellite for the first Small GEO mission at the Paris Air
Show, which is currently taking place.

With a volume of around EUR 48 million, the contract assigns OHB the status
of principal contractor for the entire satellite. Accordingly, it will be
responsible for developing the payload, integrating the satellite,
performing the in-orbit testing and putting the satellite into operation.
As well as this, it will be providing real-time support throughout the
satellite's entire life cycle of 15 years.

The contract with Hispasat complements the contract for the first Small GEO
mission, which follows on from the contract which the European Space Agency
ESA and OHB signed in November 2008 for the development, construction and
testing of the satellite platform as part of the ARTES 11 program. Known as
'Hispasat Advanced Generation 1', the first Small Geo mission is scheduled
for launching at the end of 2012.

The payload for 'Hispasat AG1' is to be supplied by Tesat-Spacecom. The new
LUXOR satellite platform is being developed by a European industrial team
lead-managed by OHB-System AG. The industrial team comprises the Swedish
Space Corporation, Oerlikon Space AG (Switzerland), and LUXSPACE Sàrl
(Luxembourg). Contracts with the program partners have already been signed.

Hispasat AG1 will be placed in a geostationary orbit at an altitude of
36,000 kilometers, where it will supply Spain, Portugal, the Canary Islands
and America with multimedia services. Hispasat will be integrating Hispasat
AG1 in its existing fleet of geostationary communications satellites.

Hispasat AG1 as the first Small GEO Mission marks the first time in more
than 25 years that Germany has assumed system management for
telecommunications satellites.
