The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Orbis posts sales growth of 74% during the first quarter, 2001 During the first quarter of 2001, ORBIS AG (German SIN: 522 877, Neuer Markt, Frankfurt) the leading proponent in the field of software solutions for eBusiness and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) in Germany, increased its sales by 74% to Euro 8.7 million (Q1 2000: Euro 5.0 million). This most comprehensive growth in the company’s history ever was achieved by the Consulting business sector: which expanded by 93% to Euro 6.56 million (Euro 3.40 million). By the end of the first quarter of 2001, orders pertaining to Consulting have already reached 75% of annual sales’ targets. Moreover, the Solutions business area also expanded by 34% to Euro 2.11 million (Euro 1.58 million.) During the fiscal quarter, operating income (EBIT) stood at minus Euro 1.3 million (minus Euro 1.1 million). This figure mirrors a significant increase in sales and other administration costs resulting from the company’s re- structuring. Total results for the quarter were minus Euro 0.8 million. This represents an improvement of 19%, in comparison to the same period the year before. By comparison, the number of employees rose from 263 to 393 during the first quarter of 2001, compared to the same quarter the previous year, continuing the Orbis company’s strong growth through into the first quarter of 2001. Following this reassuring start to the new fiscal year, the Orbis board predicts an expansion of the company’s positive development and is confident of achieving the planned sales’ target of around Euro 40 million: with a positive EBIT.
