ORBIS AG reports 2005 as successful fiscal year

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— Saarbrücken, March 24, 2006 — The Saarbrücken-based business consulting firm ORBIS AG achieved profitability once again for the 2005 fiscal year. With consolidated sales amounting to EUR 19.820 million (2004: EUR 19.763 million), the company achieved an EBIT of EUR 561,000 (2004: EUR 138,000) while the consolidated net income totaled EUR 346,000 (2004: EUR 118,000). This translates to a profit per share of EUR 0.04 (2004: EUR 0.01). The slight upturn in sales revenues and the 307% increase in EBIT are in line with the company’s declared objective, i.e. a return to profitability. During the reporting year, shareholders’ equity increased to EUR 16,797 million (2004: EUR 16.419 million), with the equity ratio rising to 67%, from 61% in 2004. The total assets of ORBIS amount to EUR 25.191 million (2004: EUR 27.078 million), resulting largely from a reduction in both current liabilities and long-term debt. As of December 31, 2005 cash and cash equivalents totaled EUR 5.970 million (2004: EUR 4.722 million). The cash flow from operating activities experienced a cash inflow of EUR 2.901 million (2004: minus EUR 2.564 million). The average number of staff during the year was 185 (2004: 191). ORBIS has entered 2006 with optimism and expects to benefit from a renewed momentum in its business segments. For the current year, ORBIS is planning a moderate single-digit growth in sales revenues, while at the same time increasing its EBIT by 10% to 30%. This confidence in new growth is backed by the company’s order level for 2006 that corresponds to 55% of its planned total turnover. A sustainable increase in profitability remains ORBIS AG’s corporate core objective.
