ORBIS begins optimistically for its 20 year anniversary

At the onset of the second quarter 2006, ORBIS already boasts an order level that is equivalent to 71 percent of the planned total annual sales for 2006. The first three months of the fiscal year 2006 was influenced by customer induced project delays. All of these projects have now begun in the 2nd quarter. ORBIS AG reported positive operating results for the first quarter of 2006 with (EBIT) EUR 147,000 year (previous year: EUR 304,000), and consolidated sales totaling EUR 4.547 million (EUR 5.429 million). The cost structures have been further optimized. For instance, other operating expenses were reduced from the previous year’s figure of EUR 1.175 million to EUR 1.039 million. The total personnel expenses for the first three months of 2006 decreased to EUR 3.234 million (EUR 3.660 million). The EBT stood at EUR 133,000 for the first three months of the year (previous year: EUR 321,000). The Group results generated for this reporting period were EUR 88,000 (EUR 311,000), this is equivalent to earnings per share of EUR 0.010 (previous year: EUR 0.034). Compared to the previous year, shareholders’ equity increased from EUR 16.732 million to EUR 16.898 million, resulting in the equity ratio rising to 67.3 percent as of March 31, 2006 (60.0 percent as of March 31, 2005). As at March 31, 2006 ORBIS employed 185 staff (previous year: 187). Owing to the positive order development during the first quarter ORBIS is still pursuing its set goals for 2006, single digit sales growth and an increase in EBIT of 10 to 30 percent.
