Related Party Transactions
For the years ended December 31, 2015, 2014 and 2013, the Company incurred costs of less than $0.1 million, $0.2 million and $0.2 million, respectively, to Foster Management Company and HealthpointCapital, LLC for travel and administrative expenses. John H. Foster, who was one of the Company's directors until March 2, 2016 is a significant equity holder of HealthpointCapital, LLC, an affiliate of HealthpointCapital Partners, L.P. and HealthpointCapital Partners II, L.P., which are the Company’s principal stockholders.
Indemnification Agreements
The Company has entered into indemnification agreements with certain of its directors, which are named defendants in the Orthotec litigation matter in New York (See Note 6). The indemnification agreements require the Company to indemnify these individuals to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law and to advance expenses incurred by them in connection with any proceeding against them with respect to which they may be entitled to indemnification by the Company. For the years ended December 31, 2015, 2014 and 2013, the Company paid less than $0.1 million, less than $0.1 million and $1.7 million, respectively, in connection with the indemnification obligations of Scient’x and Surgiview, all of which was related to the Orthotec matter.
