Change in Accounting for Employee Share-Based Payments 



As discussed in Note 1 above, as a result of the adoption of ASU 2016-09, the Company recorded a net $238,000  cumulative-effect adjustment decrease to retained earnings, which included a $379,000 increase to additional paid in capital and a $141,000 increase in deferred tax assets.



Common Shares Issued



In January 2016 the Company issued 3,703,699 shares of CryoLife common stock, as part of the consideration for the acquisition of On-X.  The stock had a value of $34.6 million as determined on the date of the closing.  See Note 4 for further discussion of the On-X acquisition.
