Property, plant and equipment consists of the following:

Of the total net book value of equipment at December 31, 2016 $4.4 million (2015 – $3.0 million) are in respect of assets held under finance leases.

Depreciation charges were $13.5 million, $13.0 million and $10.6 million in 2016, 2015 and 2014, respectively.

The estimated additional cost to complete work in progress is $9.5 million (2015 – $2.4 million).
