Segment Reporting, CODM, Profit (Loss) Measure, How Used, Description The CODM evaluates performance and allocates resources based on consolidated net income (loss), which is also reported as consolidated net income (loss) on our consolidated statement of operations. Our consolidated net income (loss) is primarily derived through the difference between the interest income earned on our loans and the cost at which we are able to finance them. Accordingly, interest expense, as reported on our consolidated statement of operations, is our most significant segment expense. Additionally, the measure of segment assets is reflected on the balance sheet as total consolidated assets. The CODM uses consolidated net income (loss) to make key operating decisions, such as identifying attractive investment opportunities, evaluating underwriting standards, determining the appropriate level of leverage to enhance returns on equity and deciding on the sources of financing.
