Share-based Payment Arrangement [Abstract]
SHARE-BASED COMPENSATION SHARE-BASED COMPENSATION
We maintain an equity incentive plan, the 2020 Equity Incentive Plan, or the 2020 Plan, for the issuance and grant of equity awards (restricted stock, restricted stock units, or RSUs, and incentive and nonqualified stock options) to our officers, directors, employees and certain advisors. As of June 30, 2021, we had 24.7 million common shares authorized and available for issuance under the 2020 Plan.
The following table displays share-based compensation expense recorded in the condensed consolidated statements of operations and comprehensive loss:

In March 2020, a current investor completed a tender offer for vested common stock from shareholders, many of whom were employees or members of the Board of Directors. To encourage participation, the tender offer was made at a price in excess of the fair value of our common stock. As a result, we recognized $25.1 million of share-based compensation expense during the six months ended June 30, 2020.
As of June 30, 2021, there was $7.4 million and $66.1 million of unrecognized compensation cost related to nonvested stock options and restricted stock units, respectively. The remaining costs are expected to be recognized over a period of approximately six and four years, respectively.
