Der Umsatz von 29,2 Mio. DM gegenüber 24,3 Mio. DM in den ersten 3 Quartalen des Jahres 1998 entspricht einem Wachstum von 20,3%. Das DVFA/SG-Ergebnis stieg überproportional um 21,9 % von DM 2,7 Mio. DM im vergleichbaren Vorjahreszeitraum auf 3,3 Mio. DM. Dies entspricht einem Ergebnis je Aktie von DM 0,45 (DM 0,37). Damit bestätigt die PANDATEL die ambitionierten internen Planungen. Die traditionelle überdurchschnittliche Umsatzstärke des letzten Quartals wird durch eine Zunahme des Auftragseingangs um 59% im 3. Quartal 1999 belegt. Für das gesamte Jahr 1999 erwartet der Vorstand einen Umsatz von 45 Mio. DM. Darüber hinaus sollen weitere Wachstumspotentiale zum einen durch den Eintritt in den Storage Area Network-Markt für Rechenzentren erschlossen werden. Hierzu wurde bereits mit der Entwicklung eines ESCON-Multiplexers begonnen. Unter Kombination mit dem FOMUX 3000-System wird die Bündelung von bis zu 128 Kanälen (200 Megabit/s) auf eine einzige Glasfaserstrecke möglich. Die Serienproduktion des Systems ist für das 2. Quartal 2000 vorgesehen. Zum anderen wird über die Akquisition eines US-Unternehmens der Eintritt in den amerikanischen Markt vorbereitet. Der Wunschkandidat soll eine etablierte Position am Markt einnehmen und das Sortiment der PANDATEL durch eine komplementäre Produkt- und Technologiebasis sinnvoll ergänzen. Die Vorbereitungen der Akquisition laufen weiter planmäßig. Mit dem Gang an den Neuen Markt am 2. November 1999 hat das Unternehmen einen wichtigen Meilenstein erfolgreich passiert. Bis zum 16.11.99 stieg die PANDATEL-Aktie auf einen Höchstkurs von 41 EUR. Gegenüber dem Ausgabekurs von 22 EUR entspricht dies einem Zuwachs von 86% in nur 2 Wochen. Sales for the first nine months of 1999 reached DM 29.2 million, up 20.3 percent from the figure of DM 24.3 million for the same period in 1998. Earnings calculated by the DVFA/SG method climbed at a faster rate, namely by 21.9 percent from DM 2.7 million as at Sept. 30, 1998 to DM 3.3 million at the same date this year. This amounts to a rise in earnings per share from DM 0.37 to DM 0.45. PANDATEL has thus shown that it can achieve its ambitious budgeted targets. Traditionally, sales surge in the fourth quarter, and this trend has been borne out by the 59-percent increase in order receipts in third-quarter 1999. The Board of Management anticipates that sales for 1999 as a whole will total DM 45 million. Moreover, the plan is to lock into further growth potential in two ways. Firstly, PANDATEL intends to penetrate the Storage Area Network market for computer centers. To this end, development work has already started on an ESCON multiplexer. In combination with the FOMUX 3000 system, this means up to 128 channels (200 megabit/s) can be grouped on a single fiber-optic cable. Series production of the system is scheduled for the 2nd quarter of the year 2000. Secondly, preparations are underway to acquire an US company as a launch-pad for entry into the US market. The ideal candidate should have an established market position and possess a product and technology base that meaningfully complements the PANDATEL line. Preparations for such an acquisition are progressing on schedule. With the IPO in the Neuer Markt segment of FWB, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, on November 2, 1999 the Company has successfully reached another milestone in its history. As at November 16, 1999 the PANDATEL equity had reached a high of EUR 41. Compared with the original issue price of EUR 22 this amounts to growth of 86 percent in only two weeks.
