Nortel Networks ist einer der weltweit größten Anbieter von Netzwerkkomponenten im Telekommunikationsmarkt und Marktführer für optische Netze. Die nicht exklusive Vereinbarung gilt für Europa und den Mittleren Osten. Gegenstand des Vertrages zwischen PANDATEL und Nortel Networks ist die Vermarktung der fiberoptischen Lösungen (Fiber Optic Multiplexer) von PANDATEL für den Metro Access Bereich. Auf diesem Gebiet bietet Nortel Networks teilweise keine eigenen Systemlösungen an. PANDATEL’s FOMUX-Produkte auf Basis der WDM/DWDM-Technologie (Wavelength Division Multiplexing/Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) sind technologisch führend und am Markt bereits heute sehr erfolgreich. Die optische Plattform FOMUX wurde darüber hinaus vor kurzem von der EMC Corporation offiziell zertifiziert. Die US- Gesellschaft mit Sitz in Massachusetts ist der weltweit führende Hersteller von Speichersystemen (Storage Area Networks).
