The above value of inventories, before reduction for the LIFO reserve, approximates replacement cost at the respective dates. Of the $214.1 million and $177.7 million inventory at February 24, 2018 and August 26, 2017, respectively, $177.3 million and $149.8 million is valued on a LIFO basis. The remaining inventories of $36.8 million and $27.9 million at February 24, 2018 and August 26, 2017, respectively, are valued on a FIFO basis.
