Employee Stock-Based Compensation
We currently grant stock options and restricted stock units to employees and directors under our 2010 Equity Incentive Plan. Additionally, through our 2010 Employee Stock Purchase Plan, employees are able to purchase shares of our Class A common stock at a discount through payroll deductions. We have reserved shares of our Class A common stock for issuance under these plans.

We issued no stock options during the three and six months ended June 30, 2015, and 54,000 and 106,000 during the three and six months ended June 30, 2014. Additionally, on March 31, 2015, we granted 242,587 shares of performance-based restricted stock units to certain executive employees under our 2010 Equity Incentive Plan.
The total stock-based compensation expense recognized was $6.4 million and $11.6 million for the three and six months ended June 30, 2015, respectively, and $4.7 million and $8.7 million for the three and six months ended June 30, 2014, respectively. Total stock-based compensation expense includes amounts related to awards of stock options and restricted stock units and purchases under our 2010 Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
