NOTE J – RECENT ACCOUNTING PRONOUNCEMENTS

In December 2023, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (“FASB”) issued Accounting Standards Update (“ASU”) No. 2023-09, Income Taxes (Topic 740): Improvements to Income Tax Disclosures (“ASU 2023-09”). The amendments in ASU 2023-09 aim to enhance the transparency and decision usefulness of income tax disclosures. ASU 2023-09 will be effective for the Company’s Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ending April 30, 2026, with early adoption permitted. The Company is currently evaluating the impact of this update on its consolidated financial statements.

In November 2024, the FASB issued Accounting Standard Update (ASU) No. 2024-03, Income Statement – Reporting Comprehensive Income – Expense Disaggregation Disclosures (Subtopic 220-40): Disaggregation of Income Statement Expenses. This ASU requires entities to disclose certain expenses, including purchases of inventory, employee compensation, depreciation, and intangible asset amortization, by caption. Additionally, entities must provide a qualitative description of the amounts remaining in relevant expense captions that are not separately disaggregated quantitatively. The amendments are effective for annual reporting periods beginning after December 15, 2026 and interim reporting periods beginning after December 15, 2027, with early adoption permitted. The Company is currently evaluating the impact this standard will have on the consolidated financial statements.
