Inventory consists of the following (in thousands):

As of September 30, 2023, total inventory included $25.7 million related to CINVANTI, $12.7 million related to ZYNRELEF, $2.8 million related to SUSTOL and $0.8 million related to APONVIE. As of December 31, 2022, total inventory included $19.9 million related to CINVANTI, $30.9 million related to ZYNRELEF, $2.6 million related to SUSTOL and $1.2 million for APONVIE. For the three and nine months ended September 30, 2023, cost of product sales included charges of $7.5 million and $20.3 million, respectively, compared to $2.0 million and $4.5 million, respectively, for the same periods in 2022, resulting from the write-off of ZYNRELEF inventory.
