(1) This category includes the cost of satellite transponders accounted for as capital leases, which was $17.9 million as of March 31, 2017, and accumulated depreciation for these transponders was $1.7 million.

(2) Represents the cost of Starz's building in Englewood, Colorado which is accounted for as a capital lease. Accumulated depreciation for the building totaled $0.6 million at March 31, 2017.

During the year ended March 31, 2017, depreciation expense amounted to $24.4 million and includes the amortization of assets recorded under capital leases (2016 - $8.9 million; 2015 - $4.8 million).
