Other income, net:
 
In
February 2015,
we waived our rights under the propose
d joint venture to operate the online registry and instead entered into a Joint Marketing agreement with our venture partners under which our original capital contributions have been returned and a set of go-forward marketing arrangements have been created instead. Under the terms of the agreement, the Company has undertaken to provide certain marketing support for online registry and has agreed to certain volume commitments during the term of the agreement. The Joint Marketing Agreement is for a term of
three
years and commenced in
November 2015.
The Company generated a gain of
$1.5
million for waiving its rights and entering the Joint Marketing Agreement. The gain is being recognized over the term of
three
years. An amount of
$0.5
 million of this gain was recognized for the years ended
December 31, 2017
and
2016,
respectively, and an amount of
$0.1
million was recognized for the year ended
December 31, 2015.
