PWO receives Volvo Car Quality Excellence Award

Oberkirch, February 24, 2014 – Progress-Werk Oberkirch AG was awarded the “Volvo Car Quality Excellence Award 2013” by its customer Volvo Car Corporation (Gothenburg) for outstanding performance.

“You are our best Suppliers.” These were the words used by Håkan Samuelsson, President and CEO of the Volvo Car Corporation, to greet the world’s best suppliers at Volvo’s premises in Gothenburg.

The award recognizes PWO’s achievements in supplying Volvo with cross-members for vehicle models V40 and V40 Cross Country. The basis for obtaining this award is twelve strict Volvo Excellence requirements which PWO had met in full. PWO stood out through its outstanding performance, particularly with regard to the criteria of quality, logistics, competitiveness, and the commitment of employees.

Karl M. Schmidhuber, Chief Executive Officer, is pleased with this award: “Series production of this cross-member started in mid-2012. We are very proud that we were able to reach such a high level of performance quality in such a short time following the series’ start-up. We would like to thank Volvo for their trust in PWO and we would also like to thank our employees for their extraordinary commitment.”
