Dr. Winfried Blümel assumes chairmanship of the Industry
Association of Sheet Metal Forming (Industrieverband Blechumformung)

Oberkirch, June 4, 2014 – Dr. Winfried Blümel, Chief Operating Officer of Progress-Werk Oberkirch AG, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Industry Association of Sheet Metal Forming (Industrieverband Blechumformung [IBU]).

As a Federal Association, the IBU represents companies in the sheet metal forming industry and their suppliers. With approximately 230 members, the Association unites all of the industry’s most important companies, many of which are mid-sized family-owned companies distinguished by their industrial production.

Going forward, Dr. Blümel will place a particularly strong emphasis on the subject of qualification. As a member of PWO’s Management Board, he has also successfully been involved in the transfer of knowledge between universities and mid-sized businesses.
