13. EMPLOYEE BENEFIT PLANS

The Company maintains a defined contribution retirement savings plan pursuant to Section 401(k) of the Internal Revenue Code (the “Code”). Eligible participants may contribute a portion of their compensation to their respective retirement accounts in an amount not to exceed the maximum allowed under the Code. The Company matches 100% of the employee’s contribution, up to 3% of each participant’s gross salary and 50% of the employee’s contribution above 3% not exceeding 5% of the participant’s gross salary, per pay period. Safe Harbor Matching Contributions made by the Company are 100% vested immediately. The total amount matched during the years ended December 31, 2018 and 2017 was $38 and $35, respectively.
